This paper describes an asynchronous microprocessor design,
based on MIPS R2000 microprocessor, but targeted to
asynchronous circuitry for 0.5 um CMOS Standard Cell.
Its achievements include not only the world-first working
large scale real microprocessor design by asynchronous
circuits, but also wide range of device behavior testing
to guarantee the correctness of the design. These design
features, testing method, complexity of the development,
and well-written paper clearly distinguish itself from other
submitted designs. Thus, this design is worthy of the
Outstanding Design Award.
